Why I LOVE Christmas

I love Christmas because it is a celebration of a story that is not "pretty", but is incredibly beautiful.

It's a story about a holy God that desires an intimate relationship with his creation.

It's about a man who had everything and left it all to rescue the ONE he loved.

It's about a young girl who put aside fear, insecurity, and doubt to be obedient to a call.

It's about a young man who put aside pride and the fear of what others would think to do what he knew was right.

It's about the Almighty becoming the most insignificant and vulnerable piece of humanity, a baby in the womb of an unmarried girl. The Word who spoke the world into being, choosing to temporarily be without the ability to speak. The King entering his kingdom by way of a manure stall, surrounded by livestock.

And in all of this, the stars aligned to declare his birth. The angels declared, "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests."
